In 2022 Matson Catering took over The Basin Café. Passionate to breathe new energy and life into this longstanding business the team from Matson’s are excited to bring their love for Tasmanian food and great service to a new home at one of the most famous locations in the state.
Established by in 1990, Matson Catering has developed a wonderful reputation for the quality of its food, the professionalism of its staff and the ability to exceed the expectations of guests. The brand has now grown to encompass seven state wide businesses in the hospitality industry with a team that is eager to highlight all the benefits of Tasmania, whether it be its people, its produce or its vast natural environment.

Hospitality experience is desired but not a necessity if you have a keen desire to learn. Summer job vacancies are always open to school aged students looking for experience in both The Gorge Restaurant and The Basin Café.
Hours
The Basin Café is open for Breakfast, Lunch, Morning and Afternoon Tea from 9am onwards seven days a week. Open evenings for booked events, functions and weddings only.
